PLU ELMSN program - is working during program possible?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello everyone! I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm hoping someone (or several someones) can give me some advice about the PLU ELMSN program. I'm planning to apply by the Nov 15 deadline for admission in June 2015.

I see on the PLU ELMSN website that it says students should not plan to work for the first 15 months of the program. While I understand that the program is intensive and the coursework strenuous, how would we be expected to pay for reasonable living expenses (such as rent, food, gas) during this time? What have other students done during this period? Is there an amount included in our tuition/cost of attendance fees that allows us student loans to live on? I'm concerned how this works.

Any information/advice that anyone can give me would be appreciated. I've directed my other questions towards the Graduate Admissions officer I've been talking with, but I'm curious how other students have handled this issue and not the official position of the school.

Hi Ahaffly,

Thanks for asking this question. I'm wondering if you had any luck obtaining an answer to your question. While I have applied to the ELMSN program, I have not entirely figured out how I will pay if it if I am accepted. I've spoken to the financial aid folks at PLU which was clarifying, but not totally helpful. Do you have any leads? Thanks!
