A&M Round Rock 2nd degree 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I want to start a thread for everyone applying to A&M Round Rock for Spring of 2015!

Hi there! I'm counting down the days until the application period opens. It's been a long painful ( although rewarding) road with prereqs and it's starting to feel real at this point. A&M is the only one I am applying to this year so I'm a little worried about putting all of my eggs in one basket, but it absolutely is the best option for me. How about you?

oh I completely understand! I earned my bachelors in international business in 2010 and worked for a small marketing company in Austin until recently. I work at a doctor's office in north Austin and have a 2 year old at home so I am definitely looking at A&M because of the accelerated program. I won't be working while in school though unless it is prn, thank God! Taking these prerequisite courses with a little one at home has been challenging for sure. Have you taken the Hesi yet? Are you taking classes right now? if so, which?

I'm working p/t in accounting until I actually start the program. All I have left is US History (I graduated from Concordia in 2000 and only had to take 3 hours) which I'm talking online in the summer and then Chemistry in the fall. I took the HESI in January and it went well. My kids (6 & 3) are my reason for wanting to get it done as fast as possible too. I'm going through an EMT program right now so if I do end up having to work a little during the program, it's at least applicable to what I'm learning. :)

that's great! sounds like you are on the right track :) Do you have any advice for studying A&P for Hesi? I registered for it yesterday and take it on June 8th, so that's when I will be submitting my application to A&M also. I am applying to 2 other programs for back up (Tx State and ACC) but they don't start until the following Fall. I am really hoping to get into A&M too though, definitely my number one choice

I used the review book evolve puts out and I was fresh out of physiology when I took it, so that helped too. I also searched HESI A2 on Quizlet and went through some of those sets. It all ended up being just about right.

Okay that definitely helps! Thanks! Application period is right around the corner, I can't wait to just submit mine and not worry anymore. but then we have to wait like 4 months until we hear back...right?

Yes - it's going to be a painful 4 months.

Tomorrow is the big day!!! Are you excited we are finally applying?? I was wondering if I can submit my application before taking the Hesi since the scores will automatically be sent to a&m

@lovemykiddos I'm not able to find our program under designations on the NursingCAS site. Are you?

OMG yes! I keep checking NursingCAS to see if it comes up so I can designate it, but it's not there yet. All I have left to do is have my husband check my data entry on my coursework and my supervisor submit my reference letter (without bugging her with my not-so-subtle hints today) and I'm ready to pay my fee and click submit. How about you?

I'm not sure about the HESI. You'll have to check with admissions to be sure. Good luck!
