Linfield or Oregon state?

I am currently a high school senior planning to do nursing. I am stuck between schools and I would really like to hear your opinion. I am trying to decide if I should go to Linfield for all 4 years or attend Oregon state for 2 years for all the pre recs and transfer into a nursing school. Oregon state appeals to me most because I would really like to have the college experience for my first two years, but I would still be working hard in school. Is it smart for me to go for the college experience or should I just go to Linfield straight?

Depending on your financial situation and your personal preferences, you could complete your prerequisites at a community college for a much lower price, especially if you aren't thinking about staying at that university for their nursing program. At a CC, credits are roughly 1/3 the cost of a larger university. I've heard great things about both nursing programs. Are you thinking that you'd like to work in a hospital as a RN? I would dig a little deeper into Linfield's program. I used to work for Legacy Health and I believe Linfield College is partnered with Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center. That could be a wonderful way to get your foot in the door for employment after graduation, and also for scholarships or tuition reimbursement programs (if my memory served me right).

I have thought about cc, but I do want to experience the college life which is why I have thought about going to osu. Financially that would be much much smarter because college is so expensive. I have tried to look into a financial reimbursement program at Linfield but I couldn't find any. The only college in the Portland area I have seen is the one at up. I do plan on working in a hospital setting, hopefully in the l&d department
