Information Needed About A Few Colleges

Students Pre-Nursing

Published

My daughter is a pre-pre-pre-nursing student. Right now she's a senior in high school. She applied to 8 different Universities, majoring in Nursing (Pre-Nursing). She was accepted to all the colleges, but we have finally narrowed it down to 4 (mostly for cost, and closeness of family). ..... BUT, now the real questions begin. Such as:

1) How good the Nursing Program is at that University.

2) How difficult and competitive it is to be accepted to that Nursing Program.

3) How many applicants and seats that college has each year.

4) The average GPA needed for acceptance into that University's Nursing Program.

3) The pass rate for first-time NYCLEX testing.

4) What criteria each college uses for Nursing Program acceptance.

Any other pertinent information you can think of. Such as, is it more wise to go to a smaller (private) University that, I'm guessing, wouldn't have as many applicants??? Information such as that would be greatly helpful and appreciated.

The 4 Universities being considered are:

1) University of Cincinnati

2) Kent State University

3) Wright State University

4) Marymount University

The 4 Universities that we already cut off the list are:

1) Purdue University (W-A-Y to expensive)

2) Goerge Mason University (?????)

3) University of Louisville (Expensive)

4) Northern Kentucky University (Don't know much about the program, and can go right across the bridge to the University of Cincinnati for a lot less $$$$$).

Anyway, ANY INFORMATION will be appreciated!!!

Thanks. :)
