Hey! I am applying to the Hunter College new generic pathway for Fall 2014. I just took my NLN exam and was wondering how other people did and if anyone knows what my chances would be. I got a score of 147, 98th percentile, and a GPA of 3.62. How has everyone else done? I'm so nervous because the program is so competitive. Also, does anyone know if there are a lot of guys in the program?

Omg that's great!!! Ur scores are awesome I think u have a good chance based on wat others got accepted with last year. I am also applying for this fall my gpa is a 3.7 I have to take my nln on the 27th and would like to know how did u score so high! Did you just use the red book or would you suggest other study materials?

It's so competitive it scares me!!! People keep on talking about this red book, but I don't know what that is haha. I didn't study at all, my philosophy was I either know it or I don't. The verbal part or reading whatever it's called wasn't bad, the math was pretty simple, but the science had a lot of physics which I haven't taken since sophomore year of high school, so I thought that was the most difficult. Good luck on your test!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The average nln score last year was 145. The red book is the nln review book issued by the national league for nursing themselves! It was recommended by the nursing advisor so I been studying from that. I haven't taken physics at all but I will continue to learn wat I can. Thank you for the goodluck. I am so nervous about thd test! I will need it. I'll post my grade when I recieve it. Hopefully see you in the program!

I took the exam today. Score 150...gpa 3.92. I dont think we should compare gpa to last year because this program is diff and requires less prerequisites than last year. You are now able to take a&p 1/2 once you get in as well as microbio which means you'll have freshman students who have higher gpas. Because they didnt have to take the tougher courses which would yield more prevalence of scores below an A.

Just to add to that... I know a lot of freshman in my class who have 3.9 3.8, but when I ask them what classes they've taken it's only gen chem, or Essen of gen chem, us history, psych, etc.

Its easier to maintain a high gpa when you've only taken a certain amount of classes freshman year. I am a sophomore and already took ap 1 and 2 plus microbio. But I would predict that there will be a lot of freshmen with high GPAs applying because the new program doesnt call for tough Prereqs anymore which would level out the playing field before hand.

I think they should have left the program at two years. if someone gets in and then has to take ap with all those other nursing courses plus microbio? That's a big course load. Ap was tough when I took it. I only took it with one other class. But if you score a b or below once youre in the program then you're out! ...and now what? Now there's an empty slot. But we shall see. It's the first year for this program. Let's hope it works as they anticipated.

I completley agree with what you said above. I feel that the applicant pool will be greater. My gpa is a 3.7 and my nln is 122 do you know of anyone that got accepted with a similar nln

Did you take ap 1&2 and microbio before you applied to the program?
