Help! I'm usually pretty good at working the conversions, but this question has thrown me for a loop. Here is the problem:

"Suppose that you have a bottle of 96 proof vodka. Vodka is basically a solution of ethanol (c2h60) dissolved in water. Assume that the density of ethanol is .76 grams ethanol/ml ethanol, the density of water is .99 g water/ml water and that the density of the 96 proof vodka is .88 g vodka/ml vodka. Also assume the volumes of water and ethanol are additive when the liquids are mixed."

Several questions regarding this statement follow. If I can understand the first one I should be ok. I'm sure he will have a problem similar to this on the test. thanks in advance!

The question is:

"Question: % by volume ethanol (% v/v)"

My problem is the v/v..this is supposed to be a ml/ml conversion, but we have grams/ml in the problem. I can't seem to wrap my head around what to do here.
