Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I took Anatomy and Physiology before and got a 78% and that wasn't good enough for a lot of the schools in WA. The practicals were easier for me because I could visualize things and it was mostly memorization, but the dense lecture chapters and exams are where I had trouble.

Do you guys have any tips on retaining information in the chapters and getting higher scores on the exam? The lecture notes are only very brief. Anything helps, thanks!

Hi, I took A&P 1 in Fall '16 and got a 91 in the course. I'm a visual learner, so what really helped me do so well in the course was going on YouTube and looking at the concepts we were learning for a better understanding. A great YouTube channel to get brief information about a topic you went over in lecture is Crash Course. My biggest piece of advice is not to over do it! Take major breaks between study sessions, eat, and get enough sleep. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. I have seen some of those videos are they are very helpful. I guess a lot of my trouble is the retention part. I read the lengthy chapters and take notes both in the book and from lecture notes, and they just seem to slip away from me--or when the test comes around, it's gone in a poof. Maybe it's test anxiety or maybe I need to learn how to take notes differently.
