Why am I so impatient?!

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Well it has been 2 weeks since I took my GRE exam. I know my hopeful grad school-to-be now has my official scores and now my application is being reviewed. I am so nervous and scared that they won't accept me. I want to be an NP so badly so I think that is why I'm scared I won't get in, because I want it so much. Does that make sense? I hate waiting. When I'm not at work, I literally do not know what to do with myself! I just want to know already so I can relax. If I'm accepted, I won't be starting the program until August 2006, but all I want right now is to know I am in. I keep thinking about it so much that I've even opened up my old pathophysiology book from my RN program and started looking over some of the chapters just so I can feel like I'm preparing for being in the school mode again. I know I'm a big geek. I just can't help it. :) Please wish me luck that I'll get into this program. I did well on my GRE, I graduated with a 3.975 from nursing school with my BSN, I have a master's degree in biology as well, I have 4 really good recommendation letters, and I'm currently working as a med/surg RN and I have so much love , enthusiasm, passion and such endless interest in nursing that they just have to take me! I'm trying to type out all my good qualities so I can try to convince myself that they will take me....but I'm still so nervous. Thank you for letting me vent! :)

Maybe some of you who are also waiting to hear if you got into grad school programs can post here & let me know how you're dealing with the waiting! :) Thanks!

Hi, I just posted a "waiting" message too (it was my first post) what schools are you waiting to hear from??

You are not alone!!! I feel like I am losing my mind waiting!!!!!!

I applied to UMASS Grad School of Nursing-I really want to go there more than anything! Good luck to you too as you join me in waiting! :)

Congrats on your GRE's too! I needed a 1000 and got a 1120, so I am super pumped about that as well!!

I am on geek mode with you, as I have started learning Medical Terminology and Medical Spanish!! (I don't have a BSN so med. terminology is new to me - except what I learned in anatomy & physiology)

hey christvs! i saw your other post and just wanted to say hang in there! I am still waiting to hear from columbia, which isn't until February! So i am still with ya!

Thank you! :) I'm trying to keep busy, but I find that when I'm not working, that is all I think of(grad school)! How are you passing the time?

Oh school is about to start for me, so I am getting ready for that! I also moved recently and have to unpack and get organized. I am also getting ready for my interview now...

Try reading, I've read four books in the last two weeks...

Watched a million movies (I joined NetFlix) it's awesome...

I started learning a little medical terminology...

I've been journaling this experience and am going to blog it all in on my new blog...

hope this helps!

Lovingpecola, I thought you were still waiting to hear from Columbia. But you said you're starting school soon-are you going someplace else instead?

I have not heard from Columbia yet...I have an interview at Yale in a couple of weeks.

I am still an undergraduate student (graduating in MAY)! I am applying to these schools for graduate programs!!!
