Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I started my MSN ED Several years ago online at Liberty University. After taking a break from nursing and doing daycare administration, I returned to nursing and later returned to school. I am in the practicum part of my classes. I did something stupid in the last class and was so mad at myself I choose to take another break. That is biting me. I have two classes left- Curriculum development and my advanced practicum, 6 credits and 100 hours of precepting. That is all. I want to finish now. I live in rural Ohio and work full time for as a Head Start Nurse/ health Advocate, so getting time off will be difficult. I have called all over Coshocton County, Hospitals in zanesville, new philadelphia, and Cambridge, ohio to find a preceptor. Doctors offices normally close by five and on the weekends. Columbus and akron are 90 minutes away and I need weekends... Help I need advice... frustrated and annoyed at myself. I should have continued and then I would be graduating right now.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Have you talked to your school about your difficulty? Maybe they'll have some suggestions for you. I am on a break now from my MSN/Nurse Educator program, and I am so glad I am already registered for my next class, because it would be difficult to start again if I weren't! My brain keeps going "You already have one MSN, just stop." Ugh. Best of luck to you!!!

First my other masters is not in nursing.. it is master of arts in health and wellness. yes I have spoken to my school and they know that i am diligently looking and doing all I can. The problem I have is that I love school and if I could be a full time student permanently... Oh my Gosh i would so be there... I tell people to continue and not take a break unless they are truly motivated to do school because you just won't go back.. I was going to quit but it two classes... and that just frustrates me.
