Need Suggestions for RN-MSN Programs

Nursing Students Post Graduate

I am wondering if anyone is attending an online RN-MSN program and is currently enjoying it.

I am trying to find these programs, but I am having a ton of trouble.

I really don't want to fork out the money for the for-profit colleges such as University of Phoenix, etc...because of the very high-cost of the tuition...my employer has a limit for reimbursement and I don't want to take out any loans.

This may be another good idea for a sticky.

Thanks!!!!

Start your search by looking at websites for regular MSN programs and regular BSN completion programs. As you are digging in those websites, look for the possibilities of combining the programs. The school might not "advertise" the RN-MSN option aggressively, but still have that option available. I teach at a school like that. The RN-MSN option is not highlighted in the marketing materials, but it is available for students who qualify.

I'd also recommend looking at schools that are within a day's driving distance -- or located in cities where it is easy for you to visit for some reason (family to stay with, convenient plane connections, etc.) So that if you do have to make an ocassional trip to the school, it will be do-able.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The problem is, I have already done so and none of the colleges convenient to me has an RN to MSN program.

I was hoping if I could post on here...that others that were current in such programs could post where they are going or schools they have researched.

THANKS!

I applied in the summer for Spring admission 2010 from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock Texas. They are totally an online RN-MSN program .I just received word that I was accepted and start January 2010. I have friends that have completed this degree and love it. Look at their web site

How is the online course delivery handled? Vista? Angel Learning?

How much does the tuition for the entire program cost? They tell you to call into the office on the website.
