Hey guys!

I just got into an MSN-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner programme in Virginia! I am so freakin' excited!

I really wanted to BSN to DNP, but I want to start working as an NP as soon as possible. The transition from MSN to DNP at my school is pretty seamless, except for the fact that you still have to do an interview. I know that the DNP is supposed to become the entry to practice eventually, but all of the major hospitals near me (Baltimore/Washington D.C.) still hire MSN prepared APRNs. I am not too worried about finding work with an MSN right out of school, since I will graduate in 2015, but I know that the DNP is a must eventually.

I am super excited for you! I just got an interview for Psych NP program too at FIU..fingers crossed..will know by next wed. Hows the program for you so far?

Now..is it online? THe Virginia school. Are you rrelocating? I want to get in too! I am BSN, 3.6 GPA, MNed Surg nurse for 1 year now, and I want to do Psych NP.
