How long are you waiting to get a job?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hey guys,

I hope to become a PNP in the next couple of years and am super excited about it! The only thing that makes me a little nervous is being female and my biological clock :lol2: I'm not exactly old, but I'm definitely thinking about it more and more as I get older since I entered nursing a little later at the age of 26 and now have 3 years under my belt.

I was considering trying to get pregnant about 3/4 of the way through my program so that I could have some of the pregnancy covered by not be 8 months by the end of my practicum (uncomfortable, I think!) but rather spend the 3rd trimester after graduation and studying for boards/relaxing (hubby has good insurance and would be able to cover us financially with his job).

So...

How long are you waiting to get a job after graduation? Is there a general time limit that you've found employers to frown upon? I'm not talking like a whole year, but 3-6 months? Likely I wouldn't be able to interview for jobs until at least a month post-partum since I'll be recovering from the birth/getting to know hopeful future child.

Anyone care to share their experiences?
