Direct-Entry Marquette University

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi all-

Wanted to start a new thread because I have been searching for answers and cannot seem to find any.

I am looking to apply to the Marquette Direct-entry program for May 2015 start after I finish my MS in nutrition. I have been seeing many different opinions on this program. I have heard it is a great program but that even though they say it can be done in a specific amount of time, it generally takes students upwards of 4 years to finish their MSN because the classes aren't offered enough to finish in less time??? Anyone know if this is valid or if this is just a case of students not knowing what they got themselves into and struggling therefore resulting in more time?

Also, can you sit for the nurse practitioner certification exam after the MSN or can you only do this once you also finish a Post-Master's certification program?

Thanks!!

On their website, there is a link to a PDF document that lists the class schedule. At the bottom of this document, it says that post-MSN students are able to sit for certification as a CNL and may apply for admission to a certificate program for an ANP specialty.
