Anyone starting this program in Irvine this January?

I just found out that I was accepted Friday. I will be in the psych track of the BSN to DNP program. I am pretty impressed, because I am from MN and our Nurse Practice Act changed in 2013 so that all instructors who teach a MN RN have to also have a MN RN endorsement, and Brandman's Dean told me today that they are going to be making sure this happens for the faculty that would be teaching me.

I was hesitant last week, because the coordinator of the psych track told me she didn't know if I could attend Brandman due to this issue, but then the Dean emailed me and said that she began looking into all of this back in August when I first applied so that they could get a head start on the process if I were to be accepted.

Not every school would do something like that, in fact I applied at EKU and went through all the trouble of sending my transcripts and getting references before they called to tell me they wouldn't take MN students.

So far, I'm pretty excited and looking forward to attending! Where are you from? What track are you going to be in?

Thats great that they are accommodating your needs. I went to Brandman for my BSN and I really had a good experience. I'm from Central California and will be in the BSN to DNP acute care program.

Our first immersion starts Jan 19th. Maybe I'll see you there!

I have my registration appointment today. Are you going to be staying at a hotel, or do you live close enough to drive each day? I am looking for someone to share a room with, but I am not getting any reply yet from Ms. Trobiani who coordinates that. If anyone out there is reading this and you are going to Brandman January 18-22, 2015 and need a roommate, PM me! I want to get it set up asap so I feel less anxious about the whole situation :nailbiting:

Sorry, I am just now seeing this! I'm actually staying with family. Hope you were able to figure something out!

Hello,

Happy Holidays! I got accepted at Brandman University's BSN-DNP Program starting this January. Please I'd like to ask anyone that's in the program what they think about Brandman School of Nursing Program? How did you or are you liking the program/school? Please anything you can tell me about your experience there; the program, faculty, support system, etc will greatly be appreciated. I'm excited about the admission but a little skeptical about the school as I have read some not too good things about the school. Please I'd appreciate it if anyone can message me back. Thanks.

Great program if you like auto-didactic learning...

You may end up with 10 different instructors during the course of your three year enrollment and 73 credit hours. Do you really think that each one of those instructors is going to get licensed in MN? I'm not being condescending, but just don't get bamboozled. This program is 70k+. That's a lot of money to be disappointed...see if they will put it in writing.

I'm starting the Psychiatric DNP program in January. How is the program so far? Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.
