Anyone Considering Brandman's Psych NP Program?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hey all, I am in the process of applying for Brandman University's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, BSN to DNP track. I am really excited because the admission rep sounded very positive about my application, yet I am also nervous because I take the GRE in about 2 weeks (eek!). It feels like I'm studying for the NCLEX all over again! The GRE is all I have left to do and my application will be complete.

Anyway, I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there applying to the PMHNP program at Brandman for the January 2015 cohort, or if there is anyone who is currently in the program and could give some feedback about how it is going or advice about things learned along the way? Please share your stories and experience, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Well, I took the GRE yesterday! I think I did alright, but considering Brandman only actually looks at the analytical writing portion, I am still pretty nervous because it takes several days to get a score for that part. My admission adviser told me that if for some reason I didn't score at least a 4 on the writing portion, Brandman would let me submit an essay to demonstrate my writing skills. To me, Brandman should just let applicants do that in the first place, it would save us $195 and it would be a lot less stressful than trying to compose two well thought out and written essays in a total of 60 minutes
