Any one work at one of the MLH hospitals in Philadelphia area? i am thinking about applying to their GN Internship program. Comments good or bad will be helpful about the internship and the hospitals (especially Bryn Mawr and Paoli). Starting pay rate too if anyone knows.

Specializes in Cardiac Step Down, PICU.

I passed on an ICU new grad position at Bryn Mawr to work on a "cardiac" step-down floor at Christiana Hospital. I regret not going to Bryn Mawr :o (Long story about Christiana) I thought going right into the ICU might be a bit much for me given that I have little ones and the commute was farther for me. I have friends that work for Mainline health and are very happy. Are you thinking about going into ICU?...I do have one friend who started at Lankenau on the step-down floor with a promise to go into the ICU in 6 months. When the 6 months were up he was not transferred to the unit because his step-down floor was having "staffing issues". He was told that when the staffing issues are resolved he can go to the unit. He's now at Christiana's MICU... Ask to shadow a nurse for a day before you accept any position....good luck with whatever you decide.

P.S. I have heard that Paoli only hires new grads that have done their clinicals there.
