I'm getting Very Very Nervous

As I sit here peering dazed and confused at my academic calendar that I've just purchased from Staples I've come to the harsh reality that less than 3 weeks from now I will have started 's ACE program.

As much as I have told other people to not be nervous, I think it has officially hit me that I am about to embark (SP?) on one of the most trying 11 months of my life and am not completely sure if I am ready for it. I wonder if I have dotted all my Ts and Crossed all my Is. or something like that... as I write this I chuckle, b/c I know I got that wrong but for the sake or irony I will leave it.....

Loans are taken out, savings have been accumulated. Jobs have been quit. Part time babysitting jobs have been lined up. My boss has graciously set up a monthly cleaner to come in and give our apartment a thorough cleaning once a month so it doesn't get too neglected while I am in school so it will get the dusting it will so need. And hubby can do the basic cleaning.

I think a study group has been formed. Child abuse clearance is in the mail, I'm just waiting for it to come back. My second HepB shot is scheduled for next week. Drug screening is done, I got my schedule, supplies are bought.

Does anyone else know what I am forgetting to prepare for the ACE program? anything?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks for letting me list my thougths.

I think you're doing great in preparing for the program. You have everything that I can think of right now. You didn't mention anything about uniforms in your post, but you gave me information on getting uniforms so I'm assuming you have that done also.

As for me, I'm still having alot of problems with . I'm still not registered for any classes because they said they never received my Course Request Form. I mailed this form in the envelop they sent me a month and a half ago. Ms. Breslin asked me two weeks ago if I'm attending Drexel because she never received this form! She sent me another one two weeks ago which I mailed immediately. I just emailed her and again she said that she never received it. Either the mailman is lost or Drexel is just really unorganized. I pick the latter.

Did you also have problems with Drexel? I was warned by a couple of past students that Drexel is very unorganized, especially because the ACE program has about 170 students class. I guess I didn't expect to have so many problems. I want to do the program but I'm so nervous that I will have so many problems when I start as far as clinical sites, schedule, financial aid, etc.

If I were to give you some advice, I would say that you need to make sure that Drexel is doing their part on this process. Contact everyone that you ever sent forms/documentation to and make sure that you file is correct so there will be no suprises later on. Also, contact the financial aid and make sure that they have received your loan paperwork and they are in the process of certifying your loan (since you are already registered). This is important because if they don't certify the loan, then the bank cannot disburse your loans.

I hope everything gets better for me with Drexel, because right now its looking like 11 months of administrative problems. Maybe the past few months have been super busy for them and this is why things get lost. I'm glad you're having a better time with this process.

I'll see you at orientation!!!

So, how's everyone holding up? My internet hasn't been up and running for a few weeks now, so I've been going through email and allnurses.com withdrawal.

Orientation starts in less than 12 hrs. and I'm still really excited. I feel like a kid again, getting ready for my first day at school. I have all my paperwork together with the orientation information, a notebook, pen, pencil, and of course my Septa schedule. I'm finishing up some laundry and just settling into my new reality of being unemployed as of 5:00pm today. I gave myself the next week off just to relax and make sure I have everything in order.

I hope everything's going well for everyone! Goodnight. I'll see you bright and early in the am.
