Hello everyone can someone please help starting next week on orthopaedic ward for three month preceptorship have to give some objectives to achieve any ideas.

Understanding policy and procedure of the unit.
Ability to perform a thorough assesment.
Recognizing signs and symptoms of infection
How to position the patient based on DX.
How to use and instruct use of assistive equipment
How to operate PCA pump

how to ensure the containment and prevention of infection and cross infection should be and objective. Depending on the physical layout of the work area or ward the clients may be placed in appropriate areas so persons who have active infections would not infect others who are post op or pre op.
