To Do, Or Not To Do???

Specialties Operating Room

I have been a RN for 11 years (NICU - 4 years and OR - 7 years).

I am considering jumping back into OR full circle as a traveller.

I was wondering if any of you have referrals, feedback, information you can share with me regarding OR travel nursing. How long have you travelled and where did you go? I am really considering TX, LA, NY, or CA.

Thanks!

Gina, BSN

I considered traveling nursing a while back and learned a lot from nurses who are traveling from this website: http://forums.delphiforums.com/travelnurses

Good luck!

I travelled for 5 years. I loved it and still miss it. The best part is, you can go wherever you want to go. I say "Go for it!!"

SnoopyComeHome,

You've been in the two specialties that attract me the most. I'm going into my senior year in a BSN program, I'm 47 so I'm getting a late start and want to go straight into a specialty. Of the two...NICU and OR, which do you like the best? What was good and bad about both? Any tips on how to choose what to try first????

Any info is hugely appreciated!!!

Did you make the jump to traveling? I hope to start an assignment in November. Traveled for almost 12 years a long time ago but was in the ER. Started OR a couple years ago and have the travel urge again.
