What's the best option for me

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am 21 years old and am a junior at a4year university. I transferred my freshman year and then changed my major twice. I finally decided I want to purse a BSN and become a RN. My gpa at my current university is 2.2 but calculated with my courses from my first year it is a 2.7 ( not sure if different schools will calculate this number differently). I have a 3.0 in my pre reqs and still need to take anatomy, physiology, and stats. I was diagnosed with melanoma my sophomore year and my grades suffered tremendously. Now that I am cancer free and can move forward I want to find a path where I can 1-simply get into a nursing program and 2-not waste my time and money taking classes many universities require (that is,classes that are not required for nursing but to the university). In my experience transferring has always been complicated because every schools degree path is different. I'm just trying to find a path that will best suit my situation. My gpa is obviously not to par and I'm wondering what schools have lower requirements. There's so much to think about when deciding what to do and I'm extremely overwhelmed!
