Nashville State Nursing 2013

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone, I just received a letter from Nashville State for an interview for nursing. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten a letter or has already been through the interview process. I'm hoping I get accepted for the Fall 2013 nursing program. I'm very anxious!

Just dropped off my letter! We will be in class/clinical 3-4 days a week the first semester. They usually don't assign our schedules until about 2 weeks before classes start. There should be a meet and greet around the second week of June. (I'm going by what happened last summer). We will get more info then about books, uniforms etc. be prepared to spend some big $ out of pocket this summer--especially since the financial aid dept has changed policy and won't distribute ANY student loan refunds until the 5th week of semester.

Do we have to take a test before we start?

I sure hope not! I'm tested out right now!

Shew me too!! I'm so glad finals are over and now I can start calming down now that I've gotten my letter haha. I've been so anxious the past 3 weeks!

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it would not be a full 5 days right off the bat. I can't wait to find out the schedule so I can plan accordingly with work and kids. See y'all in June, I guess! :)

Is anyone going to work while in the program?

I plan on working the first semester, just until it becomes much more time consuming

I will work my 2 shifts on the weekend first semester and then probably go to 1 shift a week after that.

It's good to know others will be working. I really can't afford not to work...but it makes me nervous because I don't want to stretch myself thin to where grades drop... Do you all have families/kids?

I have a 3 year old daughter. She is with me during the week and with her dad on the weekends so I can work. She is what I am most nervous about. She figured out last semester which days she had to get up early so she could come tell me "mommy you can't go to school". Heart wrenching to say the least! But it's just 4 semesters! We can do this!

I don't have any children but I'm engaged and I work all the time. It sounds like we will all be able to help each other out through these next four semesters!

I would like to continue working p/t (I'm only 22/hrs M, T, 1/2 day Wed); however, I'm pretty sure they are not going to be thrilled with me telling them my limited availability so I am prepared to put my notice in come August. Hate to lose the little income but can't pass

Up this nursing school opportunity either.:)
