Please, anyone know of financial help for cancer victims???

I'm aware of Hill Burton act, but how does he pay for office visits and medication? And how can he get the BEST treatment?

My 43 year old brother Jeff was just diagnosed with prostate cancer. Last year his PSA was slightly elevated, this year, more so. The biopsy was positive and they're recommending a total removal of his prostate.

He also struggles with depression and anxiety, and just now his medicaid insurance has been cancelled (they claim his disability benefits are too high, yeah, right).

He has great difficulty with praying/"higher power" etc., which is one reason why I beg for your prayers -- to replace the ones he cannot make. He once had faith; however long before this diagnosis the mere word "God" sent him into a tailspin.

Please pray regarding the cancer, the money troubles, and his emotional state. He was my best friend when I was growing up, through tough times. He's finally sober and now this.

we are trying to raise funds for bill barry's cancer care. bill barry has been disabled since 1994, and in that time, he has given so much of his heart and his time to helping others. he's a proud man who's never asked anyone for anything he couldn't repay immediately. the bills will be more than his wife can afford on her limited income. medicaid will only pay 80%, and nothing of his prescription cost. in his hometown of east bloomfield ny, he is an unsung hero where everyone knows his name, but the donation cans in this farming town cannot raise enough to cover his care.

he has no choice but allow us to try and provide the assistance he needs to cover the costs of his medical care. his needs surely only add up to a fraction of the time and energy and things he's given to others, never asking for a thing in return
