OU's Trad BSN or ADN-BSN program

Anyone have any info on the OU program? How are the teachers and faculty? I'm looking to get into the trad BSN program next fall or... if I get in this fall to an ADN program, I'll try to get into the ADN to BSN program right away.

Hi! I am the president elect of the Tulsa OU Student Nurse Association for 2008-2009 and if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a private message and I can give you more information. I am a traditional student with a previous bachelor's degree. In the private message I can give you the reasons that I personally chose to go the traditional route. I know others who have much more on their plate than I do that are doing great in the accelerated program. It is up to you and how much you think you can handle and how quickly you need to get through the program.

The OU RN-BSN program is wonderful if you are disciplined. I did it part-time and did quite well. Went on to the Masters program. If you can be self-disciplined with a timeline, you will be quite successful. If you need to be with the instructor or students on a weekly basis, you might want to consider another program.

Are classes at OU harder than community colleges? I got accepted into the nursing program for this spring at TCC, but the daycare that I planned on using went out of business recently. If I can not find another daycare for before school childcare I will not be able to start nursing classes next week. I guess what I am trying to say is I am thinking of applying to OU's nursing program for this fall and I am worried that the classes will be more difficult. However, I only have 42 hours. I do have a 4.0. I know the deadline is in January, but if I get on the ball I can take a lot of classes this spring and summer. Do you have any idea if they will even consider me since when I apply I will only have 42 hours. Do they take into account being enrolled in classes? The campus is closed for the holiday's and I could not talk to anyone, I thought this would be a great place to find out a little about OU.

I wish I could help with more information. I do know that any school of nursing is hard and requires alot of each student. Community colleges have a different overall focus than the 4-year college. Since you have been accepted to TCC, try and and enter next semester if they admit twice a year.

Give OU a call this week and see if they are in the office.
