HONDROS COLLEGE

U.S.A. Ohio

Is there anyone attending Hondros RN program? Can anyone provide any information on this school.

I'm finishing the spring quarter this week. I'm at the Westerville campus. The school is for profit and may be more expensive than other programs but it goes a little faster (or feels like it does to me anyway) when faced with long waiting lists at other schools. I'm in the LPN program and my understanding is that Hondros just received their accreditation in 2013. Unless you go to the Westerville Campus I can't answer much about instructors but I can answer things about the first term and how some of that works.

Hello. I go to the Fairborn location for RN. I really like it. You are never going to find a school that is %100 perfect. But I think Hondros has overcome a lot in the last several years. I have not had any instructor changes in the last nine months I have been there. It is fast paced and you must study your butt off to be successful. They offer free tutoring and some of the instructors have hours you can come in to discuss things you don't understand. I started the program in the summer of 2011 and got pregnant about three months later. I had to stop in the middle of 2012 after I had my son. I just came back in the spring of this year. I am doing awesome though. I am starting my final term January 5th 2015. They are rumors and many old threads on here saying that Hondros grads cannot get hired in a hospital. That is a lie, so please don't believe it. Kettering Health Network employs several RN grads from Hondros. I just finished my clinicals at Grandview and one of the RNs who had some of my classmates was a grad from the school. My friend Lisa just got hired on at Soin and she completed the program in March. Yes the college is expensive, but when you think about it Fortis and Galen are much more expensive. Hondros is $270 a credit and I believe those other schools charge well over $300 a credit hour. There is an ATI Predictor you take and must pass before you graduate, but I think all schools are using some kind of exit test. Good luck wherever you wind up at :)
