BSN straight to MSN program...is it even possible?

Hello, I am currently in school in Ohio working on my BSN. My dream has always been to achieve the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) position...as quickly as humanly possible.

My question to all you guys is: "Have you, or anyone you know in Ohio (if we want to be more specific, Northeast OH) ever went straight to a Master's program right out of graduating with a BSN?"

I know many schools recommend getting field experience of 1-2 years prior to even applying to an MSN program, but surely someone out there have done the impossible...right? Help a brother out! :up:

They recommend experience because, IMO, it's not safe to practice as a NP without several years RN experience.

I started NP school with 1 year nursing experience. Research has shown no significant differences in outcomes for nurses with/without experience and seasoned nurses may be at more of a disadvantages because of the major differences between the two roles.

Most NPs at least worked during school so that had 2-3 years experience upon graduation.
