Hi all

I am hoping to take the inpatient RNC exam by the end of this year. Several people I work with just took the written exam last week. They did not feel that any of the study materials they used were of any help.

what would all of you who have taken this exam recommend? I have the manual of obstetrics, but no where in there is any mention of congenital rubella causing the "blueberry muffin" rash and that was one of the questions on the exam.

Thanks for the assistance

Actually, I think CMV infection causes the blueberry-muffin rash in neonates.... maybe it's different in adults?

Sorry! I don't know how to help you... I took the nicu RNC two weeks ago. I grabbed a "clinical pearls" type book with all the info in bulleted 1-2 sentences covering nicu topics. I know I've seen these books for ob at places like Barnes and Noble. Really though, I think I did well on the test more from work experience than actually studying. Best of Luck!

You can get a practice test from 2003 online, there is a fee attached. I found that was helpful to study from. Do a search for CCRN and that is where the test is found. Also there are different reviews for RNC all over the country, just get online to find one near you. There are Core circulum books available along with "Made Easy" books that I studied from. When you sign up for your test there will be an outline sent to you, make sure you know all the material.
