Medical advice/health issues (Everyone Please Read):

Specialties Ob/Gyn

Rather frequently, we have the issue of someone wishing to seek medical advice of the people who participate on this board, and who can blame them? We have 100s of years' solid experience in OB/Midwifery/GYN issues that are more than valuable and varied---they are respected by so many!

However, this discussion board is designed to provide a forum where professionals and future or potential nurses gather to discuss issues related to our specialty.

*Nothing posted or discussed here shall be taken or construed as medical advice.*

Nothing can replace the professional consultation and/or information you can get from your own midwife, doctor, or nurse practioner. Please, do not ask questions here of personal medical nature or give medical advice to others who participate on these forums. If in doubt, always exercise your right to seek a 2nd or even 3rd opinion.

Terms of Service (TOS) strictly prohibit the seeking or giving of any advice of a medical nature on allnurses.com. If you have questions regarding TOS or other allnurses.com-related issues, please feel free to Private Message me or read more about this in our Terms of Service, linked below:

also, some words from nekhismom, that still apply, regarding board etiquette:

dear allnurses members and guests,

please remember to keep things polite when replying to threads in this forum! there are many controversial topics discussed in this forum, and i realize that at times, it may be hard to remain rational when participating in these threads.

i must insist that everyone here mind their manners.

if you have particularly strong feelings regarding a topic that is being debated, i ask you to please count to ten and think before you post. we are all guests here, and need to remember to behave ourselves as such.

also, we need to remember to debate issues, not argue with other posters. if you disagree with a point that someone else makes and wish to debate it, debate the issue. do not allow yourself to be drawn into an unnecessary arguement. if you feel that a post is inappropriate in any way, please report it using the button that looks like an exclamation point to the left of each post.

i would also like to refer everyone to the tos that we all agreed to abide by when we joined allnurses.com

you can find a copy of the tos here: allnurses.com terms of service and welcome - all members please read

or at the bottom of every forum. if you are unable to abide by the tos for any discussion, please refrain from posting on that discussion.

thank you all for helping to make allnurses.com a user-friendly site.
