inpatient OB RNC----HELP!!!?!?

Specialties Ob/Gyn

I am sure there are numerous threads on this but, unforuantely I can not find them, I am new to the site. I am preparing with a few other RN's for the inpatient ob Rnc exam. I recently had a very educated, well experienced co-worker take the exam and fail. She was told that the exam has been re-done. That is is much harder. I was wondering of those that have VERY recently taken this exam, what did you study with?? What were your thoughts on the exam. Will you share with me what I can do to better prepare myself and my co-workers to take this exam?? I would really appreciate the anything anyone can tell me.

THANKS SO MUCH!

The exam has always been hard. I took it in 1999 and it was like taking boards. If you can, I highly suggest a review course. Pro Ed Center has an excellent one that affords you an opportunity to take the exam after the course. It prepares you very very well.

Thanks for the info!

HI, I don't know how recently you are looking for, but I took it in January and I did NOT think it was hard! I studied the book Perinatal Nursing by Kathleen Rice Simpson. I did the practice tests at the end of each chapter. It was the only book I used, it was an excellent study guide, but a really great resource also!! Good luck to you!

I also am preparing for the exam. It was recommended on this site to study from Perinatal Nursing by Kathleen Rice Simpson as the pp stated. I'm taking my exam August 20th. Good luck to you!

Passed it today!! :) Not gonna lie...it was difficult. I didn't find that everything was in the books I studied from. I left the computer not knowing whether or not I passed. I did thank God! It wasn't like that for the NCLEX for me. I knew I passed before I officially was notified...
