Bakersfield,CA

It's been 10 years since I worked at Memorial in L&D, but it really made an impression. I know that travel nurses are often treated differently by staff, that we tend to get dumped on, but it was taken to an extreme at Memorial. The hostility towards the travel nurses was palpable and right out in the open. I have never worked in a more toxic environment in L&D. There were several incredibly nice nurses there, but they were the minority. I've been offered Bakersfield since, but there's not enough money in the world. And, to top off a unit full of hostile nurses, you're in a town that is the absolute pits. Maybe things have changed for the better, i certainly hope so.
