SNI question

Nursing Students Student Assist

So I have been a CNA for a little over a year now on a surg floor. I just got accepted into clinicals for the fall and I'm going to quit my CNA job (I have a 2nd job) and thinking about applying for student nurse intern positions so I can get all trainer and comfy before school starts. Requirements are cna license and enrollment in 1st semester of clinicals. My question is, if I start this job before fall semester, won't I be a little lost? Will It mostly be CNA work in the beginning? Anybody know? Thank you:)

Depends on your unit. I've been a nurse intern in a surgical PACU at Johns Hopkins for 15 months now and it has been terrific. The nurses on my unit know I'm getting my BSN and they always are helping me, showing me stuff, educating me, mentoring me, etc. I've had other friends get intern jobs and they basically just work as a tech.

It depends on the unit. My experience in a PACU at Johns Hopkins has been terrific. The nurses have all taken an interest in teaching me everything they can. Others I know say their internship work has just been simply as a tech. Sorry about the double-post! The website isn't working real well right now...
