I'll NEVER get over this!

Nursing Students Student Assist

A year ago, I had to stop midway through the PN Program I will forever be grateful for being chosen, because of only 1 course:

A&P. Missed it by only 4 points! It's been haunting me. I was the oldest in my class, 57. Now at 58 I still think about this every day and my end result is simple: I WANT TO BE AN LPN. For alzheimers. That's all I could want. It's starting to really affect other areas in my life. I MUST FINISH.

In Missouri is there any chance i can take just A&P again someplace else? That accepts the passing grades I proudly stuck around to complete finals, knowing I wasn't coming back I still came in and passed all others like a CHAMP.

I enjoy working as CNA/CMT now don't get me wrong. It's just that obtaining this goal would mean more to me than I care to reveal. Seriously.

Where can I go? Who do I talk to? Is it even possible a year after? At age 58, honestly am I just being a silly old dreamer? Honest feedback appreciated.

I'm not in Missouri, but I just wanted to stop in to encourage you. You can do!!! It's never too late so keep going! When nursing is your passion and especially the field you want to go into, you will find a way!!!

Appreciate your encouraging words. My dad died in October from alzheimers, and I had already chosen and worked with them specifically BEFORE he started his horrible journey. I promised him I would finish school. I did finish, in my own way but he passed before it ended

Bittersweet and ironic, which adds toy personal desire to somehow accomplish the goal of LPN.

I'm scared. Seems super daunting and so scary now, especially since I know first hand how tough the program is.

I'm still pondering, but thanks to this site I feel much more confident and relieved as I share my situation. Bless you all.
