Reebok Easytones?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Hi all,

It's time for a new set of nursing sneakers. I've been kind of seduced by the Reebok Easytones, which claim to tone your hams and glutes while you're walking (http://www.reebok.com/US/#/search?t=easytone). I'm wondering if anyone has tried them and could affirm/dispute the website's claim. Are they comfortable standing/running around for 8 and 12 hour shifts? At the end of your shift, does your butt feel as tired as the rest of you? Thanks for any help!

I was thinking about these too. I'm not really into sneakers anyway but if I have to wear them it did make me think about these. I don't know how these would be while working as a nurse but as a student they might be do-able.

Update:

I went to my local athletic shoe store, where the salespeople really know their stuff. I asked about these Reeboks and similar shoes put out by other companies. The guy said that the reason these shoes provide a workout is because the surface that comes in contact with the ground is built unstable on purpose, so you have to work a bit harder to maintain your balance. He said that he's heard of a few people suing the shoe manufacturers because they've broken their ankles and legs from losing their balance on the shoe. I decided against buying them because on some days, I'm accident-prone as it is and I don't really want to be trying to keep from tipping over when inserting an IV, running a code, etc. I'm kind of bummed out!

Sounds to me that they are a lot like mbt shoes. Actually, they sound exactly like them. I stick with the old faithful Dansko clogs. They are the most comfortable.
