New job

Hi everyone. This is my first time participating in this forum. I only recently found out about it (and I found out by accident.)

But I think it's great!!

Anyway I am hoping for some help. I have recently been offered my first management position. It is in an 8 bed ED in a small rural community. And I'm not sure if I'm ready.

Pros - there hasn't been an ED manager in 6+ years (so no one to compare with. Most of the staff is very skillful and knowledgeable. I have worked there for 3 years and know the ends and outs of the place and know which staff members would be supportive. I would have the support of the administration (I think)

cons - There are two staff members (out of 11 FTE's) that like to stir up trouble and are very negative personalities. I have three children under the age of 5 at home.

So - any recommendation for or against
