I just need a little help with my computer. Had some major viruses and spyware attack my computer a couple of months ago. It is working ok....but.....the images on the screen are distorted, I can not change the color bit or the pixels.therefore this has left my children aggravating me all summer"why can't we play Carmen Sandiego and Scooby" Well kids error comes up stating it can not run color bit needs changed but I can not change it. Have gone under windows, control tab, settings etc wont let me change them no matter what tab i go under. Also I have this message that keeps popping up about downloading ActiveX, is this the problem or the solution. Please help if possible don't really have the cash for a new computer or down time to have someone fix it since school will be starting in a few days.

If you have antivirus and firewall software and you're sure your virisus and other "bugs" are gone, then you probably do need the active X component. You can read about active xon the microsoft home page - or on webopedia.com

Ask a local pc networking group about active x - good luck

Just reformat the pc with your windows disk. Save all the data you need to then pop the disk into the drive and follow the istructions. When it gets to the part where it asks you if you want to creat a partition say yes and make it about 5Gb in size. This will install the operating system to the one drive leaving the rest for safe data storage. In the event of needing to reformat again all your data will be saved. If this doesn't work your video card may have had it.

Another alternative is to reinstall the video drivers for the video card. If you want any further clarification feel free to pm me :)
