I saw this after surfing the net. Press release 01/12/2011

The Department of Health (DoH) today announced that applications can be filed starting next week, January 17, for its project where unemployed nurses will be deployed to poor communities in the country.

"the project, billed RN heals, seeks to make essential health services available to all Filipinos by training and deploying 10,000 unemployed nurses in communities to be identified by the DoH in collaboration with the department of social welfare & development (DSWD),"

Health secretary Enrique Ona said.

Rn Heals, an acronym for registered nurses for health enhancement and local service, is expected to address the shortage of skilled and experienced nurses in 1,221 rural and unserved or underserved communities for one year.

"eventually, these nurses will be part of the pool of competent nurses for later employment or absorption in health facilities, thus addressing the inadequate supply of skilled nurses and increasing the nurses' employment rate," the health chief concluded.

I just called the DOH, unfortunately, they are no longer accepting resumes as they have already deployed it to respective hospitals last week. What they advised is to go directly to the hospital to apply.

hmmm.. I called the St. Martin de Porres Charity Hospital to inquire about an opening and I was shocked knowing that a successful applicant must undergo a 2-3 months training as their basis in hiring a nurse as their staff. I wonder what that "training" would be? This concept should have been eliminated already

This program is useless for second coursers who are in their 35 yrs old and above as they have a memo that they will be getting only 35 yrs old and below, for the program. I tried to apply today, but was turned down as I am a second courser and wanted to apply for the program. When they asked for my age and I told them I was already past 35, they said its in the memo(DOH) that they cannot accomodate 35 yrs old and above.

only in the philippines are you discriminated with age....
