Coronary Care courses

Hi everyone,

I am a new grad and was looking into doing coronary care courses (I live in the Toronto area). I found a private college offered coronary care 1 as an accelerated course and I can finish it in December.

However, I was wondering if employers cared where I get my coronary course certificate. I've looked into George Brown and Humber but all their courses are currently full and I can only sign up for January.

Yes, employers care where you get you education from and taking it from a private college when it is available at a community college doesn't look good on a resume.

Private colleges, especially as an accelerated course, won't look good. Is the college accredited? Unfortunately there are a lot of colleges that are in the business of offering these courses. There are even some accredited colleges that offer things, such as the critical care nursing courses for Internationally Educated Nurses offered at Niagara College (just as one example). It gets them nowhere near what they need in order to be licensed.

Wait for January if there are accredited courses available. Also, talk to others who work on coronary care units to find out what they would recommend.
