MD to a RN

Hi! I was just wondering if any of you can advise me on the path I need to take to become a RN.

I am a IMG (international medical graduate) with green card. And would like a change of career to nursing.

I just don't know where to start. Thank you so much.

To become an RN, you need to complete a nursing education program and pass a national licensing exam.

There are various educational paths from which to choose, including an Associate's Degree, usually earned at a community college, a Bachelor's Degree earned at a college or university, and a graduate entry program, leading to a Master 's Degree. Diploma programs, once widely available at hospitals, are now very rare.

I am not aware of any shortcut available to candidates with medical training gained outside the US, as nursing and medicine are distinct disciplines governed by separate entities.

Hello!

I have heard of MD-to-RN programs, specifically geared to international medical school grads. Florida International University has such a program.
