Hi everyone! I am so excited: I have a job interview in an ICU next Thursday. Close to my dream job, & pretty thankful I even got an interview. Anyway! I am about 14 wks pregnant. I should be able to hide the bump but is this the right thing to do? I don't want to be deceitful but I also don't want to wreck my chances. I am so incredibly unhappy where I am now, & I can't imagine working there through, & after, baby comes. Any advice?

Even though it is technically illegal to discriminate based on pregnancy, we all know it happens all the time. I would suggest hiding the bump, as you mentioned, for now until you are through the interview process. If/when you are offered a position and background and drug screen is cleared, then mention it. Or if a physical is required then mention it then. Then you can ensure you are not being discriminated against as well as being honest close to up front. Many managers know this happens and they will either be supportive when you tell them , or they will be grumpy about it but will get over it as long as you are performing your job duties and are accountable. GL with your interview!!
