Complementary Degree

Can anyone recommend a complentary degree to nursing which I can take online? I need to make certain it will benefit nursing. I read an article suggesting social work (please advise.) I currently work at an assisted living facilty and am unable to stop work to attend nursing school right now. I have applied at other sites that does offer a flexible schedule and tuition reimbursement. I have completed all of my pre-reqs for entry at an associates level. I want to always work towards my nursing degree and I don't want to take something just for the sake of taking it.
