Career Possibilities in L & D or Postpartum Care...

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hi everyone!

I have always wanted to work in L & D or Postpartum care as an RN. Unfortunately, earlier on in my life I did not get my RN (kicking myself for it now!!), and at this point in my life I do not want to attend nursing school. With a new baby, etc. I need a career option that will take less time to complete & won't be as demanding of a program. For all the nurses working out there in these areas, I would love if you could tell me what other positions are available (if any) aside from the RN's or physician's. LPN, CMA, Nursing Assistant, etc.? I have heard of OB Techs, which would require a Surg. Tech. degree but when I contacted Allina's Human Resources they informed me that those positions very rarely have openings :/ Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

(I live in Minnesota)
