Do I stand a chance?

Good day readers, I am in need of some information by those capable of advising.

I am an RN with a Bachelors degree (education and experience in US) in nursing with legal nurse consultant certification. I have approximately 7 years of healthcare experience, 3 of which are working as a nurse. My background includes Emergency Services mainly, however experience also in medical-surgical nursing, behavioral health, cardiac and rehabilitation services in long term care settings. I additionally work, currently, as the RN facility supervisor for off hours coverage at a rehabilitation center. My emergency room experience is in a level I, II and III trauma centers so I am no stranger to big concerns to things as minor as a toothache.

Given the above, what chances do I have of securing a position in Australia. My location of interest for living would be within 15 miles of Brisbane, though I don't mind travelling for to work. I understand the application process for international persons and am in the discovery stages before I get the ball rolling.

From what I noted, Australia has more part-time positions than full-time position availability. Since I am moving there and starting from scratch I need to maximize my income potential so full-time is the goal. Would I be better to apply to larger institutions directly for part-time work and coordinate hours with another location or would I be better to apply to agencies and have them direct my employment areas. I know coming to Australia I would require a work visa and I hear agencies are a good place to apply to maximize potential for visa approval and employment opportunities. I have never worked for an agency before because I'm afraid of lack of work possibilities but I'm not sure I have any luxury in indicating what I will and won't do initially.

Sorry for the long story but I wanted to give a clear picture. With the above in mind, what is my best approach to secure employment in Australia near the Brisbane area?
