my fibromyalgia started by getting lyme diease when i was 6 or 7. i of course didn't suffer from fibromyalgia until many years later. i was bitten by a tick when we were living in fort, rucker alabama ( my dad was second in command on the base so we had a house). we had a backyard with a forest in the back we always played outside in the trees , one night i told my dad i had a bump in the back of my neck , and showed him. they took me to the ER and had to surgically remove the tick . it was very deep in my skin. we moved back to NY 6 months later, i started to become very sick, and weak , dizzy and had a rash on my body. my parents took me to the dr, the dr couldn't figure out what was wrong with me( back then they knew nothing about lyme diease) and put me on bedrest and gave my mom some medicine. i stayed upstairs in my parents bedroom during the day and my bed at night. i was so weak for months that i had to hold onto someone when i was walking. i was dizzy and sick all the time for many months. i always had trouble with muscle spasms in my legs , charlie horses and other tings. my labs were always normal... a dr many years later dx me with lyme disease as a child.

i never fully recovered , i was always tired, muscle pain , i hurt all over. a smart MD i went to sent me to a rheumatologist and i had 14 pressure points from the fibromyalgia. the dr really helped. he felt my fibro was brought on by the lyme diease i had as a child. i still get very painful lag cramps in my legs and feet and my muscles ache all the time. i always need a muscle relaxer i was on quinne , and the dr switched that to robaxin. i cannot take flexeral because it seems to make the spasms worse. i also cannot take baclofen because it is to hard on me and i cannot function.

i went off the robaxin a few months ago ( to see what happened), and the spasms in my legs are back . i am going to ask for skelaxion .. has anyone tried that? i also tried soma and it makes me nervous.

what is your fribromyalgia story? thank you all in advance.
