hi..

Im a nurse here in the philippines, Ive got this problem just last year, when i tried to apply for a job abroad ( in saudi).. and undergone there medical examination, I was shocked when I received an email coming from my agency that I failed the exam because it was found out during a blood test that I was a HCV reactive, and my liver enzymes was all elevated, I didnt expect it!..because just last 2010, I even donated a blood for my mom's friend who was diagnosed ith CA.. I was so afraid then, because if that was the case, I may not persue my dreams of going to abroad or in the place I wanna go.. I have been a Peadiatric nurse for almost 1 year but I never had a patient with HCV nor remember of the situation where can I possibly get this disease. I was so denial with the result for the clinic where I took my medical examination. Then I went home to our province and try to repeat my examination of liver enzymes and still they were elevated but a little lower than on my medical exam result from 400+ down to 200+..I didnt have the courage to go to a doctor for confirmatory test since we are financially unstable right now because my dad just had a mild stroke last march..what can I do? can this virus can normally be removed from my body?..And is there still a chance for me to work abroad because of my situation?.Im so afraid..right now, Im a critical care staff nurse in our hospital.thanks you..im hoping somebody can share his'her experiences with regards to my situation and can give me an advice what should I do.. thank you! :)

You MUST see your doctor and get tested and the proper treatment ! It is very important. The sooner you get treated, the better chance you have at a good outcome. Please see your doctor. And- it's against policy to ask for medical advice on this forum because we are nurses :) Please call your MD :)
