- Jun 19, '08 by aloha551Hi Msjam Looks like were both dealing with the same issues. I've been struggling with arthritis in my hands for years . Also 2 blown discs in my back Type 1 Diabetes and both knees need replaced but I still work. Sometimes I don't know how but I still do I laid off for a few years but missed it too much. There are a lot of Nurses out there who take more meds than their patients. I think it gives us a special level of empathy for the people we care for. Aloha

I really want to thank you for your response. To find out that nursing can be accomplished inspite of this, is a welcoming relief. After reading some of the other treads, it seems like medical employees are not exempted from some of the same ailments that they treat their patients for.
