My patient was asking about my "story" and I shared it with him. He said that he was very proud of me for rising above the (negative) influences in my life and pursing this career. He was so positive and patient with me as he noticed that I was having a very busy day. It was Valentine's Day, and boy was it busy.

When I have a minute to chat with patients, it refreshes me and reminds me of the reason why I chose to accept my calling as a nurse. :-)
