On probation Az trying to find employment

Nurses Recovery

Published

About a year and a half ago I was investigated for taking a pain pill I did not have a prescription for. I was having bad dental pain and a family member gave me one of their pain pills. I was up all night and went into work the next day exhausted. I was drug tested in the late afternoon, because I looked tired.i admitted to my mistake but was fired anyways. I am an ICU nurse and have done agency work throughout my investigation. I just signed a 2 yr consent agreement with quarterly reports and working under supervisor who's an RN. I have taken accountability for my actions, but have had no luck finding employment. Are their any nurses in az that have been through this that know of probation friendly employers. Are their any networking strategies anybody could advise me.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Dialysis, long term care, some clinics might be places to start.

I'd say it's a no for long term care. You would be to much of a liability for them.
