Help...trying to find work.

Nurses Recovery

Published

Hello. I'm an RN in the PNAP program for 9 months and am currently looking for work. My problem is this: I only have any experience working in doctors offices and in the OR. I am interested in dialysis but there aren't any positions available near me. While waiting for a dialysis position, my PNAP rep has told me to reinvent myself and try to get work in case management or utilization review. There are many jobs in this field and I apply to them ALL. However I haven't gotten a call back for an interview for any of them. I'm guessing this is because I have no experience. I don't know what to do at this point other than to keep trying. I feel like I have so many work restrictions that there's nothing left for me as a nurse anymore. I've been trying to let God take the wheel here and realize that His plan for me is to just keep holding out til the right thing comes along but as the weeks tick by with no responses I'm getting more and more discouraged. Any advice as to another field I could look into or some way to get these jobs to notice me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i understand the job market right now can be difficult even for nurses with no issues- not a good sign for you & others in your place. all i can say is- keep doing the next right thing in front of you- keep looking, keep applying, apply for anything & everything- even things you would not like to do- any job is going to be better than not having a job!! best of luck- keep us posted!! and PRAY- a LOT!!!
