For those of you who worked while waiting to hear from the BON

Nurses Recovery

Published

Hi everyone. Most of you who know me, know I'm waiting to hear from the BON. For those of you who worked while waiting , how were you notified of the boards decision? I self reported back in Feb 2016, spoke with a board investigator in March 2016. I'm working in dialysis as a RN- license is active with no restrictions right now and have had this job for a year and 3 months now. I self admitted to an inpatient rehab for alcohol and opiate addiction in Nov 2105, stayed there 60 days and left AMA because of major family problems - yes stupid I know . I completed an intensive outpatient program in 2106 , attending AA meetings , have a sponsor and this month on Nov 30th I will be sober for 2 years , thank God!

Im wondering when I hear from the board , will it be by certified letter? Will I have to stop nursing for a while? I guess I'm just scared of what they will order me to do.

Anyone have a similar story? I'm in Mississippi, thanks

I called and bugged them to get my contract rolling. I've heard of it taking up to 18 months. I didn't want to waste any time to getting it over with. I ended up getting it 2 months after self reporting. I how are you liking dialysis? I hope where you are working is better than the disaster i just left!!

I like dialysis so far. I work for Fresenius and they seem good to work for so far. I can't believe Feb will be 2 years since I self reported . I called the BON every month or 2 for the first year
