Anyone ever stop and restart monitoring program?

  1. Curious if anyone has ever left their program and then gone back to it at some point later on?

I'm considering doing this and while I know there will be repercussions, I'm wondering how hard it is to rejoin if you leave voluntarily. Any advice, feedback, specific experiences with their monitoring program or the board of nursing are welcome!

I also stopped voluntarily d/t the fact that I could not afford it. WI BON monitoring program said that in the future I can apply to lift the suspension if I have three months of testing and compliance. Not sure what it is like in other states

I don't know about other states but in California one just doesn't decide to stop and restart later. One has to apply to be released, give reason's why etc. When you leave a monitoring program your license (In CA) your license is essentially revoked. When and if you decide to continue - you start over from scratch. I know of only one person who ever got out under a failure to receive benefit. I can't remember what the exact circumstances were, but I know the person in question was going to be traveling back to Japan to settle his families affairs and would most likely not be returning to nursing.
