Nurses Recovery

Published

Hi all in Nurse Recovery world. I was part of this site about two years ago. I am back two years later. With two years of sobriety under my belt, went through an ugly divorce because I got sober and the change was too much for him, and am a single mommy of a wonderful 2 year old. I am successfully employed in healthcare not as a nurse. I surrendered my nursing license 5 years ago. I had an evaluation with a board of PA approved therapist and have a recommendation to return to the practice of Nursing with conditions of course. They could ask me to stand on my head and I would do it lol. So here I am awaiting a decision from the Board and wondering what I should do now.

I have a question for any PA nurses out there who went back after a 5 year lapse or longer. Do I have to take a refresher course or reactivation course in PA or can I just study my head off and do CEU's and take the boards again. Yes my attorney says I have to take the boards again?

Also would you wait until a definitive answer from the board or would you all start taking your CEU's now?

But guess what all my recovery nurses, when my husband left me I had to find a new place to live and I landed a house literally across the street from a rehabilitation hospital that loves to hire nurses that know what addiction is all about. How is that for a God Wink.

SOrr took so long to reply. A success story! Just do what the board tells you.....obviously you are ready and willing. So very proud of you...keep us updated. (((((HUGS)))))
